ARTICLE I: The organization with the purpose stated in Article II of this document shall be named “Armenian Hokee.” ARTICLE II: Armenian Hokee was founded on the 10 th of September 1998 , with the purpose of uniting students of Armenian descent and bringing a greater sense of Armenian culture and heritage to the NYU campus. Our goal is to address the Diaspora issue as it applies to Armenian students in America , and to help students identify/recover a role for Armenian culture in the American environment that is distinct, yet linked, to our Motherland. ARTICLE III: Armenian Hokee welcomes all those whose trend of mind, intellectual labors, and convictions are of an driven, inquiring nature that affords the collaboration needed for an organization struggling to give life and new hope to the Armenian Diaspora at NYU. ARTICLE IV: Members will be recruited annually, through advertisement and various social events under the supervision of the Office of Student Activities. Any executive office members that are absent more than three times throughout the academic year will be placed on probation, and their officer status shall be reviewed by the remaining executive board members. ARTICLE V: The Executive Board of the Armenian Hokee shall consist of 1) President, 2) Vice-President, 3) Secretary, 4) Treasurer, 5) Webmaster, and as seen fit 6) Public Relations, Advertising Director, or Events Coordinator. This body shall operate per normal parliamentary procedure, although the Webmaster, PR, Advertising Director, or Events Coordinator may be appointed by the Executive Board after club officer elections by a majority vote if club need arises. Eligibility shall be open to all members. ARTICLE VI: A formal election shall occur at the end of each academic year. Elections will be conducted by nominations or volunteers, and a majority vote. Upon vacancy, the existing offices will take the proper steps in filling the open position. Officers causing or intending to cause harm to the club or university will be impeached from the office after a majority vote has been taken among the club members. ARTICLE VII: Amendments to this document can and will be ratified by a half plus one decision, made by the executive branch. BY LAWSArticle I: Membership privileges are interactions with other members and participation in club functions. It is the responsibility of members to attend meetings and functions regularly, and to work towards the club objectives and mission statement recorded in ARTICLE II above. Article II: Meetings will organized and called upon by the Executive officers as they see fit. Article III: It is the duty of the officers of the executive board to commit to build and maintain the club's purpose to full capacity. Article IV: Committees and responsibilities will be appointed by officers as need arises. |
