Rishi Vohra - President

Hey everyone! My name is Rishi and I'm a senior in CAS. I'm a fine arts major and a biology and chemistry double minor. I hail from Long Island (like the other half of NYU) and I hope to make this year's AMSA the most productive. I really want us to reach out to the pre-med
community and make a positive change in your lives so that the pursuit
of medicine can be easier than the arduous task that it has been. Being
a physician is one of the greatest gifts you can have, and I can't wait till I'm a doctor and can save lives through Doctors Without Borders. I
am currently doing Optical Tomography research in Downstate Medical Center. I am applying to medical schools right now. Please contact me if you have any questions or concerns about AMSA.

Hey. I'm a sophomore majoring in Biochemistry. In my spare time I do freelance photography and web design. I also fence on the NYU Fencing team and love to go swing dancing. I will be adding many resourses, including documents from the pre-health advising office, on this website over the course of the year. This site will be updated fairly often, so check back at least once to week to see what's happening on campus.
Nithya Gopal - Pulse Coordinator
Contact: ng601@nyu.edu
My name is Nithya, and I am your trustee Academic Coordinator for AMSA this year! I am a junior majoring in biochemistry in CAS. I'm graduating in 2008, which makes me quite old and frankly scares the bejeezus out of me. As the Academic Coordinator, I get to pair up all you older, more experienced pre-meddies with the young kids who are looking for some pre-med advice about anything from tips on surviving orgo to MCAT prep. I got involved with AMSA because I wanted to particpate in more health/medicine-related community service projects, and as a result I've gained a lot of really wonderful memories. But AMSA kept me coming back because of their free food. freeeee fooood. No but honestly, I'm a slight science nerd and my research job in the Developmental Genetic Program at NYU Medical Center has only reiterated to me that medicine is constantly changing and that the potential for greater discovery is truly amazing. Oh by the way, my favorite flavor of ice cream is Hazelnut-Milk Chocolate. It can only be found at one place: the unbelievable Mary's Dairy. So I suggest you stop reading this and go hunt down some Mary's.
