Here at NYU, Alpha Sigma Tau also supports the American Cancer Society, which is a national voluntary health organization which focuses on cancer research and prevention, while at the same time promoting awareness.

Each year AST at NYU holds a Spring Fling, where money is raised through student donations. Typically held in the Third North Courtyard, there are games and activities, as well as plenty of food, and all for the small price of helping a worthy charity. Besides Spring Fling, we also participate in Relay For Life.

In addition to our national and local philanthropy, Alpha Sigma Tau has participated in many mini-events, such as New York Cares Day, Special Olympics, Halloween in the Park, Take Back the Night, as well as several workshops we hold throughout the year on issues such as stress relief, protection and safety, and other issues important to students.
