Searching The InternetHealth Topics My two favorite sites for search the Internet on health topics are: PubMed <www.pubmed.com> allows easy searching of Medline and other databases. Be sure to click on the Links icon next to an article you're interested in and then select Linkout. This will tell you if free full-text is available on-line.

is a "list of lists" on numerous healthcare topics. ComputersPC Magazine <www.pcmag.com>
allows searches of all the Ziff-Davis computer publications for product reviews,
news and other information. ShoppingGetting The Lowest PricePriceGrabber <www.pricegrabber.com>
and PriceSCAN <www.pricescan.com>
will compare prices on the Internet, including shipping costs. For Software And Computers
BUY.COM <www.buy.com> is a site I check for a lower price. Sometimes they also offer free shipping, a substantial difference. Company And Vendor InformationWant to find out more about a publicly-traded vendor? Go to the website of the Securities and Exchange Commission. Now select QUICK EDGAR TUTORIAL. EDGAR is the database of all SEC filings by publicly-traded companies. Pick a publicly traded health care IS company based on your interest (e.g., McKesson/HBOC, Epic). Enter it into the EDGAR search form and you will get a list of all SEC filings. Pick their most recent 10-K and read the parts on the company’s strategy, the market they operate in and the risks they are telling shareholders about.
