Hiking in Nuclear Territory
Indian
Point
This beautiful country surrounds Indian Point, Con Edison's contribution to
National Security, a nuclear energy plant located less than 60 minutes from
Manhattan in the luscious Hudson valley. You can hike along the River, climbing
Anthony's Nose over the Bear Mountain bridge, winding your way through forest
bridges,
mountain laurel
and that butt-building New York
rock.

As
I was hiking through this territory Air Force jets whizzed past, almost brushing
the trees. Ask yourselves, do we really need a nuclear power plant in the midst
of this beauty? Aren't we asking for trouble?
