Dr. Keefer just finished an NYU e-book entitled From Pain to Performance, charting the course from physical therapy to performance training, with a physical, emotional, and cognitive approach to exercise, including Dr. Keefer's Corrective Clinic, prehab and rehab to keep you happy hab, Evergreen's Knockout Workouts, Evergreen's Fitness for the Four Seasons, and Cognitive Performance.
Julia Evergreen Keefer, a former professional wrestler and modern dancer, and current professor at NYU, is
now a top kickboxing instructor, designing KNOCKOUT WORKOUTS for all ages. Trademarked classes include SpeedArts®, co-developed with Steve Feinberg and Michelle Ho of http://www.speedballfitness.com, Knockout Cardio-Core,
a cardio-core conditioning class, beginning with belly dance mobilization and basic wrestling and martial arts moves, and continuing non-stop through various abdominal, side, buttocks and back exercises on the Swiss ball, using the body bar or thigh squeezer for extra resistance.
EvergreenEnergy® is a
stretch, tone, relax and meditate class, incorporating modern dance moves with EvergreenEnergy band exercises to condition the whole body, and increase flexibility and static as well as dynamic strength. The hypnomeditation section uses the 13 EvergreenEnergy centers to nourish, stimulate, or relax the mind, and realign the spirit as well as the body. Take the EE band on your next hiking or camping trip! Version Two begins with indoor cycling or rowing and then proceeds from standing to lying work. Version Three begins on the floor and ends standing with balances and free flow dynamic stretching.
Knockout Ballet 'n Box®

is an aerobic/anaerobic class that develops or improves your posture, balance, agility, and coordination, your technique in ballet and kickboxing, while providing the cross-training to mitigate injuries, and express your anger and your joy. The pool version can be simplified for Level I (older, injured, sedentary, or slightly arthritic), while the advanced studio version could train a kickboxer for move stunts!
Knockout Step/Slide/Strike®
is a cardio-strength aerobic class using the step, the slide, an optional light punching bag, and light weights, to condition the whole body. Level I version is good after knee rehabilitation to strengthen all the leg muscles--quadriceps, hamstrings, abductors, adductors, rotators--to get you ready for sports and active life. Level III version is a fat-burning fun workout to funky music!
In addition to the above trademarked classes, Dr. Keefer can teach PACE, AFYAP, indoor cycling, step, stretch, sculpt, slide, glide, yoga, aqua, kickboxing, and core conditioning classes.
