The Gershwin Theatre

This theatre first opened in 1972 and was called "The Uris". It was built where the old Capital movie house was located and was the first new theatre to open on Broadway in the past 40 years. It is the largest Theatre on Broadway today and even has a Theatre Hall of Fame. In 1983, it was renamed after George and Ira Gershwin and, today, is owned by the Nederlander Organization. The theatre seats over 1900 people.

Past productions include: Sweeny Todd, Candide, and On the Town.

Current production is Riverdance.
