The Shubert Organization, in 1927, arranged a deal with Ethel Barrymore. She consented to star in a new play for them, and they built her a theatre. It seats over 1000 people.

Past Productions include: Tea & Sympathy, The Women, Pal Joey, and Look Homeward Angel.

Current production is The Tale of the Allergist's Wife.
