| We will read and discuss 8 of Shakespeare's
plays as an entire class. These plays will be selected by the class through ballot. You
are responsible for reading the elected plays and taking an active part in the class
discussion of each. Any edition of the plays is fine. You can also access various full
versions of the play texts on line through the links section of this web site.
You are also responsible for a web based final project due Week 15 (April 27). The project is open to many forms but must be based in or around one ideas, concerns or content of a Shakespeare play and must make an original contribution to the web. The play your web project concerns will be assigned randomly. You may negotiate to exchange plays with a class mate. You are further responsible for an in class presentation. Your presentation (time limit to be determined) should outline the basic lines of inquiry that you are exploring with your play for your final project. You presentation will be assigned a date based on where the play falls in the chornology of Shakespeare's work. Presentations start Week 6 (Feb. 24). Full multi-media capabilities are available for these presentations.

| Any edition of Shakespeare's plays that you
choose to use is fine. You may also read the plays on line from links you can follow from
the links section of this website.
You are responsible for purchase of the software that will be employed by the class.We will use Microsoft FrontPage 2000, a simple web authoring program, and learn its basics during early class sessions. The campus computer store offers academic discounts on software.
