T The play and the part of Hamlet have
become one of the most revered parts of literature .
However, in the MTVgeneration, a 4-hour complete
production of Hamlet may be a bit much for the average
viewer. Many movie attempts have been made to increase
interest in the Melancholy Dane, and more are coming.
From Sir Laurence Olivier's 1944 versionto Kenneth
Branagh's complete 1996 version, to the new version
starring Ethan Hawke, every actor wants to try their hand
at Hamlet. My goal-- play into Hollywood's Hamlet fetish,
and pass on some information about Movie Hamlet, and what
the future might hold in store.
