MAKING SOME ANIMATED GIFS

Animated Gifs are individual frames put together with other applications designed to make animated gifs. There are many such programs for Mac and Windows. Many of them are free or are shareware. The above animated gif was created by making individual frames with an image application called Photoshop Elements, which is a light version of Photoshop. Starting with the original jpeg image taken from a Google Image search, the image as edited in the rgb mode as a jpeg and then saved as a gif. Then it was flipped horizontally, then inverted (vertical flip) and then the inversion was flipped horizontally so that with the original there was a total of four gif images.

Then the four gifs were added to GifBuilder as four frames. The interframe delay was set at 25/100s of a second and the loop was set to run for ever.

A variation on this animation is the morphing dancers in which the illusion of motion upward and downward is created, along with morphing the woman into a man.
