Collaborative Process and Technology

This course examines how technology may enhance and change the collaborative process in conceiving, creating, and performing new works, especially works where collaboration is carried on at a distance through Internet connections such as I2. Because technology provides access to processes of creating and modifying media, those who collaborate can discover new awareness and perception of ways of interacting and generating new content.

The Internet affords the opportunity to explore I2 simultaneous distance performances as a new artistic medium in which each site is more than the sum total of its parts because of the mingling and instant modification of content in the process of sharing and exchange.
