Internet2 Distributed Interactive
Multimedia Performances at NYU are structured as dedicated multi-site multimedia
interactive performances. Participants pool their resources and personnel
to create performances that explore the ranges of artistic expression, digital
technology, and distance collaboration and exchange. The purpose of the NYU
Collective (Collaborative Projects in Performing Arts) is to provide an interdisciplinary
platform for creative work in collaboration with other sites (collectives)
researching and archiving aesthetic and technological experiments and achievements.
The improvisational nature of this performance is within a structured environment
to provide opportunities for exchange and creative responses.
