The Office of Civic Engagement offers a variety of funding resources for students, staff, faculty, and non-profit organizations.

Community Service Project Grants

Community Service Project Grants are offered on a semi-annual basis to students, staff and faculty wishing to create or enhance community service initiatives on the Lower East Side and Greenwich Village and in neighborhoods adjacent to the many NYU schools and divisions. Grants typically range from $100 to $500.

Service Learning Course Development Grants

Service Learning Course Development Grants are available to support service learning courses. These funds may be used to develop or enhance undergraduate or graduate courses that include a practicum of a volunteer experience either organized by the instructor or developed by students as an integral part of the course. Grants range from $2,000 to $4,000 and are awarded for one-term, summer or yearlong courses.

NYU Community Fund

The NYU Community Fund was founded in 1982 by members of the faculty, administrative and clerical staff of New York University as a way to assist organizations serving our community. Each year the NYU Community Fund distributes over $100,000 in grant monies raised directly from NYU employee paycheck donations. NYU Community Fund applications are available beginning Monday, December 5, 2008 and all applications are due by Friday, February 6, 2009.
