Welcome to the Office of Civic Engagement. This office builds on the long-standing success of the Office of Community Service and the Office of Federal Service Programs and works in close partnership with the Office of Student Activities to support their vast array of comprehensive services to students.

Funding Opportunities

Community Service Project Grants

Community Service Project Grants are offered on a semi-annual basis to students, staff and faculty wishing to create or enhance community service initiatives on the Lower East Side and Greenwich Village and in neighborhoods adjacent to the many NYU schools and divisions. Grants typically range from $100 to $500.

Service Learning Course Development Grants

Service Learning Course Development Grants are available to support service learning courses. These funds may be used to develop or enhance undergraduate or graduate courses that include a practicum of a volunteer experience either organized by the instructor or developed by students as an integral part of the course. Grants range from $2,000 to $4,000 and are awarded for one-term, summer or yearlong courses.

Project Feed

March 26 - April 2

Join the NYU community for Project FEED, a CALL TO ACTION for 2,000 + community members.

Each year the Bronfman Center for Jewish Student Life at NYU has hosted Shabbat for 2000, aimed at feeding 2000 guests at a community dinner.

This year, students are flipping the model to meet current needs and YOU can help…volunteer, donate, attend an event.
