How do I share a file or folder? How do I let someone else edit my file?
SolutionUsing Files, you can share your files and folders with other users, allowing them to view and edit your files without requiring you to maintain multiple copies of them.
The "Shared To" column within the Document Manager identifies with whom, if anyone, the file is currently shared:
- None - This file or folder is not shared with any other user.
- Some - This file or folder is shared with another user, but not all users.
- Everyone - This file or folder is either shared with the public (including people outside the NYU community) or shared with the entire NYU community.
You may use the Sharing or Permissions screen to share a file or folder. The Sharing screen allows you to quickly provide access as a contributor or viewer. The Permissions screen provides the ability to set more granular levels of access, including Read, Write, Delete, and Administer, which you may use in any configuration to provide a customized level of access.
For more information, see the Help located in Files.
