Go to System Preferences and select Network.

On the left-hand pane, click the plus sign and select VPN Cisco IPSec (do not select the default, which is L2TP).

Enter the following configuration info:

Server: vpn.nyu.edu

Account: your NYU NetID

Password: your NYUHome password

Under Authentication Settings, enter the following information:

Shared secret: nyu-net (all lower case)

Group Name: nyu-vpn (all lower case)

Check Show VPN status in menu bar.

Click the following icon and then click Connect VPN (Cisco IPSec). You will be prompted for your NYU password when connecting.
