How do I make a course available to students?
Solution

How do I make a course available to students?

If you are the instructor or TA for a course which has not yet been made available to students you will see the course id in the Blackboard courses channel followed by [unavailable to students].

If you are a student on a course that is not available to students you will see the course id in the Blackboard courses channel followed by [not open].

At the beginning of a semester you may make lots of changes to your Blackboard course site. If you are not ready for students to view a specific piece of content, then you can make that particular piece unavailable.

However, if you would prefer to make the entire course unavailable to students this can also be achieved. To make the entire course unavailable:

Go into the Control Panel for the course and click the Settings link in the Course Options section.

Next, click the Course Availability link and select No next to Make Course Available.

Click Submit to save your changes.
