What do I need to know about the new version of NYU Blackboard?

The Blackboard Upgrade Is Here!

The new version of Blackboard is now here! It will provide greater functionality and improved performance, and enable NYU to offer a vendor-supported version of the software. NYU first introduced the Blackboard learning management system (LMS) in Fall 2002. Like other vendors, Blackboard, Inc. routinely provides product upgrades intended to improve the system's technical operation and add some features requested by their customers.

SPRING '09 COURSE SITES AVAILABLE DECEMBER 1ST

Spring '09 course sites are available for activation today (December 1st). Spring '09 course sites will have immediate access to course content from Fall '07, Spring '08, and Summer '08. Content from Fall '08 course sites may not be available until late January '09.

FALL '08 COURSE CONTENT AVAILABILITY FOR SPRING '09 COURSE SITES

If you need to use course content from a Fall '08 course site for a Spring '09 course, please complete the request form no later than December 15th available at here. Course content not requested by December 15th may not be available until late January '09.

NYUHome BLACKBOARD CLASSES CHANNEL IS NOW BLACKBOARD COURSES

In conjunction with the release of the new Blackboard system, ITS has redesigned the Blackboard Courses channel and updated the FAQs. This channel will remain your primary access to Blackboard; it's simply the organization of the information that has changed.

BLACKBOARD 8.0 PREVIEW SESSIONS

Join ITS staff in the Avery Room on the second floor of Bobst Library for preview sessions of the new Blackboard system. These preview sessions will provide information, demonstrations, and an opportunity to ask questions about this important upgrade. Sessions are being held Mondays and Thursdays from 12:00-1:00pm. BLACKBOARD 8.0 HANDS-ON TRAINING SESSIONS

ITS is now offering hands-on training sessions. Hands-on training sessions will be held in Bobst Library and require registration to attend as seats are limited. Please check the course schedule for additional information, session topics, and registration information here.
