The Controller's Division (CDV) supports and advances New York University's missions of education, research, and patient care by ensuring the University's fiscal integrity and operational efficiency through effective administration and direction of its financial resources and activities.
CDV manages and advises on transactions related to the University's payment obligations, payroll, endowment and investments, indirect cost and contracts, and financial operations of research programs and auxiliary units. It is also responsible for recording and reporting on the University's financial activities and status to the Board of Trustees, donors, and the government—functions that include accounting, preparing all required financial reports and statements of the University, tax reporting, and managing external audits.
CDV partners with schools and units to ensure the University's fiscal integrity and operational efficiency by establishing and implementing best practices, internal controls, and standardized financial policies, and by providing information, guidance, training and consultations.
