The upgrade of PeopleSoft financials from v7.5 to v9.0 is scheduled to go live on September 1, 2008 (starting with FY09 transactions), along with the launch of an improved reporting environment. A significant component of the upgraded financial reporting environment is a newly designed Brio reporting dashboard that is accessible through the Work tab on NYU Home. Beginning with FY09 transactions, data will be accessible only through this new Brio reporting environment; and eReports will be phased out with a target retirement of November 2008.
The Brio reporting environment is two-dimensional. The first dimension is Basic Financial Reporting, which contains a basic set of financial reports (comparable to eReports, but with more robust functionality). The second dimension is Advanced Financial Reporting, which contains a series of data "views" from which users can create ad hoc reports. A data dictionary will reside on the dashboard for easy reference to an explanation of all terms and views.
Beginning September 1, 2008, Brio will be your exclusive reporting tool, replacing eReports and enhancing your ongoing operations. Here is some important information to know about the switch to Brio:
- Brio will be accessible through the NYU Homepage for all users beginning September 1, 2008
- Beginning with FY09 transactions, data will be accessible only through the Brio reporting environment
- eReports will be available for historical reporting (8/31/08 and prior) through November 2008, at which time eReports will be retired and historical data will be available through the new reporting environment
- A set of twenty standard brio queries will be available to streamline your reporting
- Ad hoc reports, queries, and pivot tables can be created and run in Brio
- A custom analysis feature will also be available at this basic level
