Clubs

One of the most exciting aspects of the College of Arts and Science Student Council are the student clubs that we are able to fund. We continually offer the chance to develop new interests in an evolving university community. All College of Arts and Science students are invited to initiate new clubs sponsored by the College of Arts and Science Student Council.

Before you begin the process of starting a new club, please look at all of our current clubs and make sure your idea is new and unique.

The process for creating a new student club in the College of Arts in Science is an eight step procedure:

  1. Create a fresh new idea and generate student interest, then download the Instructions for Creating a New Student Club [DOC] and the College of Arts and Science Student Council Club Code [DOC].
  2. Fill out the necessary forms provided:
  3. Submit one copy of all forms in person to Matt Van Auken, Student Relations Chair, and one copy of all forms via e-mail to the College of Arts and Science Student Council.
  4. New student clubs will then be evaluated by the College of Arts and Science Student Council Executive Board and the current College of Arts and Science Student Council’s club presidents.
  5. If approved, founders will be asked to give a presentation in front of the entire College of Arts and Science Council for final approval.
  6. If approved, the president and treasurer must attend an appropriations and budget meeting with the College of Arts and Science Student Council treasurer and their respective College of Arts and Science Student Council representative.
  7. A trial semester will be given to the new student club where the club’s budget, programs and adherence to College of Arts and Science Student Council Club Code will be evaluated.
  8. After one trial semester, the new student club will again be brought in front of the entire College of Arts and Science Student Council for final approval on permanent club status.

Note: Please start the process and submit completed forms at least eight weeks prior to the end of the current semester to be further considered for trial club status for the following semester.
