Welcome to CAS Student Council!!!

At any other school, student council might be renowned as the ultimate baked goods sellers on campus. And we’d be lying if we didn’t admit that there are some on this council who do enjoy popping a few cupcakes into the oven every once in a while. But in all seriousness, we of the CAS Student Council (CASSC) take pride in approaching student government a little differently…

CASSC goes about representing the student body through two aims: STUDENT AFFAIRS and STUDENT RELATIONS.

A little vague? Let us try to explain...

Think back to those cupcakes: Student Affairs is like the frosting. We work towards raising spirits and fostering a sense of community by organizing activities and hosting events that appeal to your interests. But, as every good baker knows, the frosting is just the beginning, the sugary topping on the cakey goodness. What really has to bring it home is the cake that makes the cupcake, and that is our Student Relations. The CAS Student Council works towards involving the student body in the operations of their own college, university, and world. If there’s something you’d like to change at CAS or NYU, but don’t know who to talk to, we’re the place to start.

Whatever. It’s complicated. And now you're craving a cupcake, aren't you?

So if you're interested in seeing what we do for yourself, please come to our General Assembly meetings on Mondays at 6:30 pm. They are held in Heights Alumni Lounge (the 1st door to your left after coming in through the main Waverly Building entrance).
