DEAN'S AWARDS CEREMONY
Tuesday, May 6, 2008, 7:00 pm

On this evening each year the College of Arts and Science recognizes students who have demonstrated exceptional ability. Family and friends may join Dean Santirocco and the faculty to applaud these students as they receive college and departmental prizes and awards.

All award recipients and guests will be invited in mid-April to attend the ceremony and reception which follows.  

BACCALAUREATE CEREMONY (College of Arts and Science)

The Baccalaureate Ceremony is a special event to honor the College of Arts and Science's graduating Class of 2008. This event provides a final opportunity for you to be together as a class and to be honored individually by Dean Santirocco and the faculty on the occasion of your graduation.

September 2007 graduates and January 2008 degree candidates will walk at the Baccalaureate Ceremony on Monday, December 3, 2007, 7:00 p.m., Skirball Center for the Performing Arts, 60 Washington Square South.

May 2008 CAS graduates will walk at the Baccalaureate Ceremony on Sunday, May 11, 2008 at 11 AM (students assemble by 10 AM) at Madison Square Garden, 32nd Street at 7th Avenue.

GRAD ALLEY
Tuesday, May 13, 2008, 5-8:00 pm, West Fourth Street

The Class of 2008, their families and friends will be invited to this Commencement eve celebration -- an indoor and outdoor festival on West Fourth Street featuring music, dancing, street performers, food and fun!

COMMENCEMENT (New York University)
Wednesday, May 14, 2008, Yankee Stadium

President Sexton will preside over the event and confer degrees.

  • Candidate Invitations to Commencement are issued by the Commencement Office early in April. They are extended to all graduates and degree candidates for degrees for the 2007-2008 academic year (September 2007, January 2008 and May 2008). Candidates for May degrees are identified as those who have applied for graduation via TorchTone by February 1, 2007. September 2008 candidates may petition to participate in the May commencement ceremony at the College Advising Center (905 Silver Center) in April.
  • Academic Attire Traditional cap and gown are required and can be rented or purchased. An order form for attire will be included in your NYU Commencement invitation packet.
  • Your Diploma Distribution of diplomas does not take place at the Commencement ceremony. The Office of the University Registrar will send your diploma by mail to your permanent address in about 8 weeks.
  • Commencement Portraits Seniors may elect to sit for commencement portraits in May. Academic attire and a minimal fee are required. Complete information will be included in your Commencement invitation packet.
