New York City

To find out more about the vibrant city of New York, you may want to explore it on your own. We include some links here to help get your explorations started.

Getting Here
Directions on how to get to NYU can be found through the main NYU site.
By air: The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey administers the three major airports convenient to Manhattan: Kennedy (JFK), LaGuardia (LGA), and Newark Liberty (EWR).
By rail: Long Island Railroad, Metro-North, New Jersey Transit, the PATH, and Amtrak all offer service to Manhattan.
By bus: Greyhound and a number of regional carriers also stop in town.
By car: Driving in Manhattan can be an adventure, but if you choose to drive, you might find the city's list of parking garages and lots helpful.

Around Town
If you would like to explore the campus, take along a map (.pdf format).
To get around the city, you can walk or bike, or take the bus or subway. Sites like HopStop can help you to find which subway or bus to take to get from point to point within New York City.

Things to Do
NYC & Company is the official tourism website for the city, and its site lists dozens of things to do every day including TV show tapings, free events, sports, shopping, restaurants, beaches, gardens, parks, and the shows on Broadway.

When you become a member of the NYU community, you will have access to Ticket Central, which offers discounted tickets to events all over the city.
