On-Campus Recruitment
Frequently Asked Questions
I’ve been selected as an alternate. How do I sign up for interviews?
First, check the Schedule Details to see when the Alternate Sign-Up period begins.
On that date, you will see the option to schedule an interview if there are
slots available. Remember, alternates are not guaranteed an interview time slot.
If all slots are filled by preselects once the Alternate Sign-Up period begins,
we recommend you bid for that position (once the Bidding Period begins).
I have a question about bidding…
Please review the Bidding Tutorial online at http://www.nyu.edu/careerdevelopment/students/recruitment/ocr_bidding_tutorial.php.
NYU InterviewNet is saying I don’t meet the job requirements,
but I do.
Update your profile in NYU CareerNet to be certain it accurately reflects your
graduation date, major, work authorization (even for US citizens) and GPA. If
your profile is not correct or not filled out entirely, you will not be able
to apply to all positions.
Should I include a cover letter or transcript?
For NYU InterviewNet opportunities, you should only include a cover letter or
transcript if the documents are requested in the job posting. Note that it is
important to save the correct “document type” (resume, cover letter,
unofficial transcript) when uploading your documents.
How many documents can I upload?
You can upload a total of 20 documents. All documents will be converted to a
PDF; this process will take several minutes.
How do I upload an unofficial transcript?
Copy and paste your unofficial transcript from Albert into a Word document.
Upload that document to your Documents and click on “unofficial transcript”
as document type.
I want to delete a resume I have already submitted for a position.
Will that affect my submission?
You are able to delete resumes and cover letters from your Documents without
it affecting your submission. Once you submit documents for a position, the
only way they can be deleted is if you “withdraw application.”
I submitted the wrong resume/cover letter. Can I change it?
As long as the resume submission period has not ended, you may withdraw your
application and resubmit the revised documents.
How do I know if I’ve been invited to interview?
Although the system will send you an e-mail notifying you if you have been invited,
the general rule of thumb is to check your NYU InterviewNet account and status
each day.
Will the employer see that I have withdrawn my resume or if I applied
on the last day of the resume submission period?
No, the employer is not able to view any resumes until the resume submission
period is over. Submissions are then organized in alphabetical order.
I received an e-mail to sign up for an interview, but when I log on,
I can’t sign up.
It is important to check the Schedule Details for each position. Though you
may have received an e-mail, the sign up period may have not yet started.
There are so many great opportunities, but I haven’t been able
to attend an OCR Orientation and now I’m missing all of the deadlines!
We offer OCR Orientation Seminars almost every week. You will not be able to
gain access to NYU InterviewNet without first attending an OCR Orientation.
To sign up for the next available one, log into your NYU CareerNet account and
RSVP by clicking Events followed by the Seminars tab. Please note that you are
also required to attend an Acing the Interview Seminar prior to your first interview
on campus.
