NYU INTERVIEWNET STUDENT BIDDING TUTORIAL
Dear Seniors and Graduate Students,
Welcome to NYU's Fall 2008 On-Campus Recruitment (OCR) season! We hope that
the fall semester was successful. Additionally, we hope you are now comfortable
using the NYU CareerNet and NYU InterviewNet systems. Our intention is
to streamline the ease with which you may review and manage your application
process. Take the next few minutes to familiarize yourself with the bidding
process and email the recruitment team at recruitment@nyu.edu
if you have any questions this guide does not answer.
Also, you will find a helpful bidding tutorial located in your NYU CareerNet
account under the Announcements section.
Good Luck! Best,
NYU On-Campus Recruitment
Bidding (for Class of 2009 Full-Time OCR only)
What is Bidding? If you do not submit your resume during the allotted submission period, or if you submit your resume and are not selected to interview, you may still bid for an interview as long as you meet the requirements of the position. Bidding is similar to an auction, where the highest bidder is more likely to win a chance to sign up for an interview. You are allotted the following number of bids each semester:
Fall 2008
Level 1: 1 bid Level 2: 2 bids Level 3: 2 bids Level 4: 2 bids |
Spring 2009
Level 1: 1 bid Level 2: 2 bids Level 3: 2 bids Level 4: 2 bids |
Once a student wins a bid, that particular bid is used up (e.g., if you use one Level 3 bid and win your bid, then only one Level 3 bid remains). Those students who do not win the bid are returned their bids. Bids are issued each semester and are not carried over into subsequent semesters. Submitting a Bid
- Log onto NYU CareerNet.
- Click Jobs.
- Select All NYU InterviewNet Jobs from Show Me drop down menu.
- Click Search
- Select the job title of the position with which you would like to place
a bid.
- Make specific note of the Interivew Information and Interview Dates to determine:
- if you meet the interview requirements (located under Position Information).
- when you may begin submitting bids (located under Schedule Details).
NOTE: You will not be able to submit a bid if you do not meet the employer’s
screening criteria.
- Under "Application Status" and during the bid submission date range, select
your appropriate resume from the drop down menu.
- Select the bid level you would like to attach to your submission.
- Select any other documents that the employer requires.
- Click submit.

Retracting/Changing a Bid
- You may retract/change a bid only during the bid submission date range.
- Click Withdraw Application under the Interview Requests tab under Interviews.
NOTE: Stopping at Step 2 will retract your bid and you will not be considered
for the position.
- To change your bid, please follow the steps described above under "Submitting
a Bid".
Reviewing Bids & Signing Up for Interviews
To find out what other bids you have submitted, select the "Interview Requests"
tab under Interviews. If your bid has been accepted, the status line will read
Bid Won! to indicate which interview(s) you have won.
Remember to view your bid results regularly and sign-up (if applicable) during
the bidding signup period.

Note: If you win an interview through the bidding process, you will not get
that bid back regardless of whether you signed up for an interview. If your
bid is not accepted, you will receive your bid point back to be used for other
positions.
Good Luck! |
