the world?
HELP US MOBILIZE STUDENTS TO ATTEND THE SECOND ANNUAL CGI UNIVERSITY MEETING!
President Clinton established the Clinton Global Initiative (CGI) in 2005 to turn ideas into action. A non-partisan initiative of the William J. Clinton Foundation, CGI moves beyond discussion, fostering a shared responsibility to address major global problems. From presidents to academics, from the boardroom to the classroom, CGI members from all walks of life are affecting positive change.
In September 2007, President Clinton announced the launch of Clinton Global Initiative University (CGI U), a new project that challenges students and universities to tackle global problems with practical, innovative solutions.
CGI U's second annual meeting will be held at the University of Texas at Austin from February 13-15, 2009. In Austin, over a thousand students will come together to make a difference both internationally and locally.
CGI U engages University students, national youth organizations, and institutions of higher education to respond to President Clinton’s call to action. CGI focuses on global issues such as:
- Alleviating poverty
- Combating Climate Change
- Improving Global Health
- Promoting Human Rights and Peace
