Washington D.C. Internships DatabaseNumerous students visit The Wasserman Center for Career Development looking for information about internships located in Washington D.C. Internships are a great way to gain experience, however, with the many internship programs, recruiting firms, and head hunters operating in the US, The Wasserman Center for Career Development wants to give you some tips on how to identify which organizations are legitimate, and those which are not. One potential red flag is if the organization or program asks for a fee for participation. Often, international volunteer programs have a fee to cover the cost of travel and living expenses. However, others do not describe what the fee is used for. We encourage you to ask what the fee covers, and to receive this information in writing. In the effort to help you make an informed decision, this list that outlines some of the opportunities in the nation’s capital. This is not an exhaustive list or an endorsement, rather it is a resource of internships available in fields such as communications, politics, research, education, social work and public affairs. Should you have any questions about a specific program, please do not hesitate to contact our office.
