Career Counseling Appointments

Career counselors at the Wasserman Center provide professional, individualized career guidance and support throughout the career exploration process. In addition, we can help you identify career interests, explore professional goals, and discuss job search strategies in your specific area of interest. The Wasserman Center’s career counselors also help with the tangible aspects of the job search process by providing resume and cover letter critiques, conducting mock interviews, and directing students to print and online resources available through the Career Resource Center. Assessment tools and interest inventories are also available to students who need additional guidance in identifying appropriate career options.

An appointment with a career counselor can help you:

  • Identify and explore career interests
  • Effectively search for internships and jobs in your field
  • Edit your resume and cover letter
  • Polish your interviewing skills
  • Connect you with a mentor in your field
  • Create a job search strategy
To schedule a 30-minute appointment with a career counselor, log in to NYU CareerNet. Under "Shortcuts" on the right hand side, select "Request a Counseling Appointment."

"The Wasserman Center has been an invaluable resource in my job and internship search. They expertly cover every aspect of the process." - Kara, Junior, Steinhardt

Walk-In Hours

Walk-in appointments are available for brief (five minute) resume and cover letter critiques and quick career-related questions. While walk-in hours provide convenient access to career advice, they should not be used in place of a 30-minute career counseling appointment.

Walk-in appointments are available on a first come, first served basis during the following times. To meet with a career counselor during walk-in hours, please visit The Wasserman Center and sign-up at the reception desk.
