Fall 2010 Full-time and Summer 2011 Paid Internship Opportunities

The On-Campus Recruitment Program takes place at The Wasserman Center for Career Development (Career Development) located at 133 East 13th Street, 2nd Floor (between Third and Fourth Avenues).

The NYU Wasserman Center for Career Development is currently accepting reservation requests for the Fall 2010 recruiting season. To request dates, please consult the Fall 2010 Recruitment Calendar before submitting an OCR schedule request through your NACElink account.

Once your reservation request has been approved, you will receive an email confirmation of your interview date, which will also contain step-by-step instructions on the recruitment process. Please note that reservations are granted on a first-come, first-served basis -- space is limited for both interviews and employer presentations. We will do our best to accommodate all requests and reservations.

Second-Round Interview Policy

We want to draw your attention to a new second round interview policy. For the Fall 2010 OCR season, we ask that you please abide by the policies below:

  • Second round interviews must take place no earlier than October 1st.
  • Beginning October 1st, please remain flexible with students and give them at least 48 hours notice so they have sufficient time to rearrange their first round interviews.

Thank you for your understanding. We hope these policies help all employers have a full interview schedule and a wide array of students.

Interview Schedule Cancellation Policy

Any interview schedule that is cancelled less than 10 business days prior to the actual interview date will incur a $200.00 cancellation fee. If you must cancel or reschedule your on-campus interviews, please notify the On-Campus Recruitment team at (212) 998-4737.

Presentations

Employers wishing to conduct a career-related presentation on campus will be assisted in making all the necessary arrangements. There are many career-oriented student organizations that offer employers assistance and cooperation in planning these events.

It is necessary for employers to make arrangements early to assure date and space availability (fees apply). Special equipment and space requests will be taken in the order received due to limited availability on our campus. Please contact Annette Tucker, Manager of Employer Services and Special Events, at (212) 998-4762 for details and assistance.

Connecting Students to your Organization

The Web is heavily utilized by NYU students who research organizations in preparation for their interviews. To assist them in this research, the NYU Wasserman Center for Career Development has created links to the web sites of employers that recruit on-campus. To add a link to your organization, let us know your web page address.

Guidelines for Offers of Employment

If offers are extended PRIOR to the start of the fall recruitment season, employers are asked to give students until October 29, 2010 to make their final decision so that they may participate in the spring On-Campus Recruitment Program. If you make full-time offers to students through fall recruiting, we ask that you give them one month or until November 12, 2010 (whichever comes later) to decide.

If you plan to convert a summer intern to a full-time hire at the conclusion of a summer internship, the deadline for students to accept or decline the offer is October 29, 2010.

If you make internship or full-time offers to students through spring recruiting, we ask that you give them 3 weeks or until March 1, 2011 (whichever comes later) to decide.

Reporting Salary/Hiring Information

Career Development requires employers to inform us of all offers of employment that are extended to students in order to ensure that we maintain accurate statistics regarding student employment. Organization's employment records are kept strictly confidential and used only for statistical reporting purposes.
