About NYU CareerNet

General Info

The NACElink Network is a new collaboration, bringing together the best of the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE), DirectEmployers Association, and Symplicity Corporation, an advanced technology provider for higher education and government. These changes mean that NYU CareerNet and NYU InterviewNet will offer enhanced functionality, including a faster, easier-to-navigate interface.

We hope you will find these exciting changes facilitate your job and internship search, and make it easier for you to connect to The Wasserman Center for Career Development and our affiliated employers.

When applying for jobs in NYU CareerNet:

  • Send a complete cover letter (approximately 3-4 paragraphs) and resume. Employers have reported that they will not consider resumes without cover letters. Note: Cover letters are not required for InterviewNet resume submissions unless otherwise stated in the job listing.
  • Upload your resume and cover letter as a Word document. If the uploaded file is a pdf then the system is unable to convert it and documents often come up blank in the system.
  • Before you begin your job search, review the Resume Basics Checklist

User Guidelines

NYU CareerNet User Guidelines

To assist you with building your professional skills it should be understood that when you use the services provided by the Wasserman Center for Career Development you must adhere to the following honor code. Violations of this honor code are highly unprofessional and will remain in your record.

When using Career Development programs and services, I agree to the following:
  • All Information found on my resume, unofficial transcript and NYU CareerNet profile is up-to-date, truthful and accurate. Additionally, I will not share my login information with other individuals from NYU and peer institutions.
  • I give permission to Career Development to provide my resume and other job search documents to prospective employers.
  • I will honor all commitments. When I RSVP, I understand that I am making a commitment to attend a seminar, special event or recruitment activity. If I cannot attend, I will cancel my reservation prior to the event, so that a peer can replace me.
  • I will exercise professional conduct during all career development and recruitment related activities, including interactions with Career Development staff.
  • I will notify the employer in a timely manner of acceptance or non-acceptance of an internship or full-time offer, either verbally or in writing.
  • If I renege on a verbal or written offer, my Dean will be contacted and consequences may result.
  • I accept that failure to adhere to any of the above points may result in the removal of my Career Development privileges, including access to NYU CareerNet, NYU InterviewNet, Career Fairs and career counseling appointments.

If you have any questions about the honor code, please contact us at 212-998-4730 or stop by and visit us on the 2nd floor of the Palladium Residence Hall. Thank you, NYU Wasserman Center for Career Development

About online social networks

We are aware that many of you are using on-line directories and social networks. While we understand the value of these types of virtual communities, we would like to remind you that just as your friends are able to search for your profiles, so are employers, and others who might be in a position to influence your job search. We recommend that you do not put anything in your profile that you would not want these people to read or see. We further recommend that you use 'blockers' to prevent unwanted comments to be posted to your site. Check frequently and remove any inappropriate comments or photos on your site.
