1. What is S2K?
S2K stands for Shabbat for 2000. It is an annual event coordinated and sponsored by Hillel and The Edgar M. Bronfman Center for Jewish Student Life at NYU. Each year, the goal is to recruit over 1000 students for an enormous community Shabbat dinner. This year we are expecting 1800 Jewish students.
2. What is a table captain?
In order to seat and serve over 1500 students, faculty, and alumni table captains serve an integral role before, during, and after the event. Table captains help to spread the word about S2K and to encourage their friends to register. They also help to set up the room for the event the day of and during dinner bring food to their table. At the end of the night they help make sure their table gets cleared.
