From Art to Heart: The Save a Child’s Heart Photography Exhibition Arts on the Move and New York University’s Bronfman Center Gallery are delighted to present From Art to Heart: The Save a Child’s Heart Photography Exhibition.
SACH has traveled overseas performing more than 130 life-saving surgeries alongside local personnel in China, Ethiopia, Mauritania, Moldova and Ukraine. On occasion, some inspired photographers have joined these missions. All of the photographers have been touched by the children they have met and the faces that have greeted them. The photographs in this exhibition are their impressions. The traveling exhibition is curated by Eli Gross. It features work by photographers Natalie Behring, Jonah Mink, Sheila Shalhevet, Nati Shohat, Debra Silver, David Silverman, and Gili Yaari. The exhibit opens on Thursday November 12th and continues through December 23rd. A reception for the artists will be held on Thursday, November 12th from 7:30-9:30pm. The event is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served. Save a Child's Heart (SACH), together with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Israel, launched an international photo exhibition around the world, as part of Israel's 60th Anniversary Celebrations. The photographs, taken by seven photographers, are mainly of children, from vastly different regions of the world and representing a wide variety of ethnic backgrounds. What links them - and the more than 2,200 other children from over 35 developing countries - is the fact that their lives were saved by the dedicated Israeli doctors, nurses and support staff who form the core of Save A Child's Heart.
