Beyond Graffiti: Fresh Visions From Tel Aviv, Jerusalem & NYC--EXTENDED THROUGH MAY 13TH!!
The Bronfman Center Gallery is delighted to present Beyond Graffiti: Fresh Visions from Tel Aviv, Jerusalem and New York City. Inspired by Old School graffiti, today’s urban artists are integrating its visual language into design, illustration, fine arts, and marketing. Moving beyond spray paint and markers on walls and black books, they apply a range of materials and techniques to a variety of surfaces. Those artists who maintain the streets as their galleries are increasingly using stencils, stickers, logos and posters to address political and social issues or to make personal, often playful, statements. Beyond Graffiti: Fresh Visions from Tel Aviv, Jerusalem and New York City is a celebration of this innovative and evolving art form.
Featured artwork from Israel includes Rami Meiri’s photorealistic wall creations, Nir Aharon’s stylish designs on canvas, Leora Cheshin’s intriguing photographs of Jerusalem stencil art, Anne Sassoon’s haunting paintings, Daniel Sieradski’s satirical graphics and Amitai Sandy’s striking illustrations.
A series of events – ranging from innovative workshops to interactive presentations – will be offered in connection with the exhibit.
