*IMPORTANT* Unscheduled Maintenance: NYU-Poly Services

Please be advised that NYU-Poly will be performing unscheduled maintenance. The service(s) will be UNAVAILABLE OR IMPACTED while maintenance is performed.



Starting at 8pm tonight, March 5th, we will be shutting down all our IT
servers in our Data Center in preparation for a power shutdown of several
buildings (Rogers Hall, Jacobs Administration Building, and Jacobs Academic
Building) on the Brooklyn campus to fix the scattered power outages that
occurred last week. Poly's Data Center is located in Rogers Hall.

During the shutdown, all network and application services will be offline,
including: PeopleSoft, Blackboard / MyPoly, email, WiFi, VPN, Internet
access, etc. This will also impact our remote sites in Westchester,
Melville and Manhattan as Internet access for these locations is routed
through the Brooklyn Campus. Also, there is a possibility that the phones
might be down as well so your staff might not receive any calls during this
period.

If the repair goes according to plan and power is restored to all the
affected buildings, all IT services should be up and running within 3 hours
after full power is restored. The other possible scenarios are listed below.

- If power is not restored by Wednesday morning, Poly will cancel classes at
the Brooklyn campus. Poly IT Staff will be on-campus.

- If power is not restored in the Data Center area, Poly IT staff will be
on-campus but we will probably not be able to function and will respond to
phone inquiries only.

- If power is not restored in the Phone Switch Room and there is power to
the Data Center area, then Poly IT staff will be on-campus and will respond
to email inquiries only.
