IT Service Status

ALERT UPDATE: Unscheduled System Outages due to Hurricane Sandy

There has been no change in the status of the South and East Data Centers; they are both still without power. Most NYU NY buildings academic and residential buildings that are not on the co-generation plant are without power. Con Edison’s estimate for power restoration remains constant at what is now 3 days out, i.e. Saturday. We hope to have Data Center operations back online when classes resume on Monday, but that will depend on the Con Ed power supply and the time it takes to bring all systems back online.

As a reminder, the systems and services that remain AVAILABLE are:

- Email Direct
- Files 2.0
- Hemispheric Institute website
- NCDP website
- Nursing website
- NYU Blogs
- NYU Classes
- NYU Directory
- NYU Google Apps for Education (E-mail, Calendar, Docs/Drive etc.
- NYU Lists
- NYU Login and Single-Sign-on
- NYU Survey Service (Qualtrics)
- NYU Traveler
- NYU Wikis
- NYU-NET (in co-gen buildings and all links to the Internet)
- NYUAD website
- NYUHome
- Re:Enlightenment
- Steinhardt website
- Telephones (in buildings with power, there may be phone service)
- Tisch Interactive Telecommunications Program (ITP) website
- Tisch School of Arts (TSOA) website
- Wagner website
- Webspace
- WWW (NYU public website)

All other Administrative, Academic, and Shared services are unavailable.

Although NYU classes are canceled until Monday, many staff at NYU continue to work to support the NYU community members and NYU facilities.

For these staff who use myTime, the myTime application server has been taken down.

During this time, myTime card swipe and hand recognition devices will not be affected and use can continue as usual.

o NYU myTime web clock users will not have the ability to clock in or out.

o Timesheet Approvers will need to gather and manually enter these clock times directly into the employee’s time sheet once the system is back up.
