The New York University women's cross country team finished in 15th place at the New York State Collegiate Track Conference (NYSCTC) Championship on Saturday, November 3.
Held at Saratoga State Park in Saratoga Springs, NY, the Violets totaled 433 points in the 17-team race.
SUNY-Geneseo won the title with 31 points, followed by Ithaca College (88) and Cortland State University (124).
NYU's top finisher was senior Jane Wolkowicz, who finished 93rd overall in a time of 20:21. Right behind her was freshman Emily Olsen (95th place, 20:22).
A trio of Violet newcomers, freshman Katherine Wang (106th, 20:43), freshman Natalie Helpern (118th, 21:10), and junior Meagan Buckley (122nd, 21:24), all ran career-best times.
"It's very promising to see some of our runners performing at their personal bests," said NYU head coach Jef Smith. "With the NCAA Regional coming up next weekend, this is a good time for our athletes to be peaking."
NYU hosts the NCAA Atlantic Regionals (both women and men) at Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx next Saturday, November 10, beginning at 10:30am.
