NYU XC Invitational Set for Sept. 15

The 9th ANNUAL NEW YORK UNIVERSITY CROSS-COUNTRY INVITATIONAL will be held on SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 15, 2007, in VAN CORTLANDT PARK in the BRONX.

The various races that will be run, scheduled start times, and other necessary information pertaining to the event follow below.

Coaches please be aware of a NEW entry procedure being utilized this year using Directathletics (see below). It has changed from what Coach McDonough was telling people back in June.

Race/Time:

Women's Regional Preview 6,000m 9:45am
Men's Regional Preview 8,000m 10:15am
Women’s Invite Open 5,000m 10:50am
Men’s Invite Open 5 miles 11:20am

Entry Fee: $125.00 per team. Men and Women are separate teams.
All entry fees are due by race day, cash or check.

Course: Traditional Van Cortlandt Park layout: grass, dirt, cinder, with rolling hills, for the Open 5k and 5 mile races.
The Regional Preview races for DIII Atlantic Region Teams
Will be run on the loop course to be used for regionals.
Course map’s will be up online on our XC website

Awards: *Team Award to top 3 Men’s & Women’s Teams.
*T-shirts to top 35 Individual Finishers.

Scoring: NCAA rules in effect, top 5 people score, next two only displace. Everyone will be timed and appear in the results. Printed copies of results will be available as soon as possible after the race, and on-line at www.eliteracingsystems.com.

Entries: All entries will be done on-line. Entries are due by Monday, September 10 @ 1:00pm. Entries will be done on DIRECTATHLETICS, using their team entry system. Everyone should be familiar with using their system, as it is the same process for entering your NCAA Regional.
Please only enter those athletes that are probable to run, not your whole roster.

Packet/Numbers: Packets will be available starting 8:00am on race day. Chips, numbers, pins and final instructions will be included.

Rest Room Facility: Public restrooms are located in the Park. There will also be Port-A-Johns available. There are no shower facilities available on site. Arrangements may be made to return to NYU’s Coles Sports Center about 20 minutes from Van Cortlandt Park.

Amenities: Post-Race: refreshments for all athletes will be available including bananas, oranges, Power Bars, water, Powerade, bagels.
