Wrestlers Sweep at Scranton

The New York University wrestling team produced another dominating performance, losing only one bout in sweeping Morrisville State College 46-0 and the University of Scranton 39-3 on Saturday afternoon in Wilkes-Barre, PA.
Ranked #14 in the latest Brute-Adidas National Wrestling Coaches Association Poll, the NYU grapplers completed their dual-meet season with a near-perfect 16-1 record.
The outcomes of Saturday matches were never in doubt, as NYU won all 10 bouts against Morrisville and won the first six against Scranton.
There were four pins recorded against Morrisville and another two against Scranton.
No one on the NYU roster wrestled more than one "official" match, other than senior captain Nick Coleman (184 pounds) who recorded two wins, one by technical fall and one by injury default, and junior Patrick Knight, who recorded two pins.
"It took a whole team effort to put up a 16-1 dual meet record this season," said NYU head coach Bruce Haberli. "So it was important to wrestle a full team in our last matches of the year."
The squad returns to Wilkes-Barre next Sunday for the Metropolitan Qualifiers, where bids to the NCAA Division III National Championships will be on the line.
