Wrestling's Hult Tabbed as UAA Athlete of the Week

New York University senior Stephen Hult was named the University Athletic Association Wrestling Athlete of the Week on Tuesday.

Hult took runner-up in the 141-pound weight class at the 39th annual New York State Intercollegiate Wrestling Championships in Buffalo, NY over the weekend.

Going in as the number-three seed, Hult posted consecutive decisions over opponents from NCAA Division I Cornell University (10-6), the eighth seed from Nassau Community College (15-4), and the second seed from Ithaca College (8-2). He lost in the finals to the top seed and defending champion from the United States Military Academy.

Hult's performance helped lead the 26th ranked NYU squad to a best-ever seventh place finish in the 18-team field.
