Women's Volleyball Trio Earns UAA All-Association Honorable Mention

The New York University women’s volleyball team placed three players on the University Athletic Association (UAA) 2007 All-Association Volleyball Team Honorable Mention, the UAA announced Thursday.

Junior libero/defensive specialist Stacy Goto, senior outside hitter Nicole Lubell and freshman middle blocker Erin Noonan were the Violets’ honorees. They helped NYU (19-18, 5-6 UAA) record a fifth-place finish at the UAA Championships last weekend.

NYU’s lone captain, Goto provided a steadying presence along the backline, averaging 3.02 digs against UAA rivals. Overall, she leads the Violets with 3.79 digs per game.

Also a New York State Women’s Collegiate Athletic Association (NYSWCAA) Honorable Mention selection, Lubell averaged 3.00 kills per game against UAA competition and has put down a team-best 3.16 kills per game overall.

Noonan earned NYSWCAA Rookie of the Year honors and was NYU’s leader with 3.12 kills and 0.69 blocks per game in UAA matches. Overall, she is ranked second on the Violets with 3.04 kills and 0.58 blocks per game.
