
Women's Volleyball Drops Two on the Final Day of Round Robin #2

The New York University women's volleyball team fell to Case Western Reserve University 3-1 and Washington University - St. Louis 3-0 on the final day of the University Athletic Association (UAA) Round Robin #2, Sunday, October 14, at Case Western Reserve in Cleveland, Ohio.
The Violets (14-15, 3-4 UAA) fell to the Spartans (12-13, 3-3 UAA) 31-29, 25-30, 30-24, 30-19) and the Bears (18-4, 7-0 UAA) 30-20, 30-26, 30-21 and finished 3-4 in UAA round robin play.
Leading the way for NYU was senior Nicole Lubell, who notched 22 kills while hitting .222 on the day. She also notched three blocks and four digs.
Also strong for NYU were the two freshman middles. Erin Noonan recorded 19 kills along with eight blocks and two service aces, while Julia Rickert notched 16 kills and six blocks.
On the defensive side of the ball, freshman Rachel Sawyer had a strong day, digging up 30 balls (4.29/G).
The Violets have two weeks off before returning to action at home when they host the New York State Women's Collegiate Athletic Association Championship, October 27-28.
