
Women's Volleyball Falls Short in Five at SUNY New Paltz

The New York University women's volleyball team fell to SUNY New Paltz in five games Wednesday, October 10, in New Paltz, NY.
After the Violets (13-12) dropped the first two games to the Hawks (18-6) 31-29, 30-27, NYU rallied and captured games three and four 30-26, 30-26.
However, in a hard-fought fifth-game finale, the Hawks pulled out a 15-13 decision.
Leading the way for NYU was senior Nicole Lubell, who recorded a team-high 18 kills while hitting a team-best .333.
Freshmen Erin Noonan and Adrienne Spohr also recorded double-digit kills. Noonan put down 15 kills while adding two blocks. Spohr added a double-double with 16 kills and 13 digs.
Freshman setter Annie Baer also had a strong match, putting up 55 assists while adding a team-best 15 digs and a career-high five service aces.
The Violets return to action this weekend when they travel to Cleveland, OH, to take part in UAA Round Robin #2 hosted by Case Western University.
