Spohr Earns NYSWCAA Rookie of the Week Honors.

New York University freshman outside hitter Adrienne Spohr garnered New York State Women's Collegiate Athletic Association (NYSWCAA) Women's Rookie of the Week honors on Wednesday.

Spohr notched two consecutive double-doubles (14 kills, 11 digs and 11 kills, 13 digs) in her first two collegiate contests as the #20 Violets went 3-1 at the season-opening NYU Labor Day Invitational. The rookie captured All-Tournament Team honors after recording a team-high 39 kills as well as 38 digs, the second most on the team, over the course of the weekend.

The Violets return to action Friday, September 7, when they travel to Ithaca, NY, to participate in the 2007 Bomber Invitational at Ithaca College. The team's first match is scheduled for 2pm against Rochester Institute of Technology.
