Men's Volleyball's Wintermeyer Collects Second EIVA Hay Weekly Accolade

For the second time this season, New York University men's volleyball senior Jonathan Wintermeyer was feted as the Eastern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association (EIVA) Hay Division Player of the Week .

Wintermeyer enjoyed another remarkable week in leading the Violets (19-6), ranked #2 in the CBS College Sports Network/American Volleyball Coaches Association Division III Poll, to three victories in as many matches.

Wintermeyer put down a career-best 22 kills, dug up seven balls and hit .613 in a 3-1 triumph over #4 Vassar College on March 24. Two days later, he spiked 16 kills on 23 swings to hit .652 in a sweep of EIVA Tait foe East Stroudsburg University. Finally, on senior day at the Jerome S. Coles Sports Center on March 29, the 6-6 middle blocker from San Luis Obispo, CA, hit .684 with 13 kills and six blocks in a 3-1 victory over EIVA Hay rival Harvard University.

Overall, Wintermeyer is enjoying his finest season as a Violet. The senior tri-captain is averaging 4.42 points, 3.42 kills and 1.12 blocks while hitting a robust .411.

Wintermeyer was also named the EIVA Hay Division Player of the Week on March 17, the same day he earned Sports Imports/AVCA Division III National Player of the Week award.

In 2007, Wintermeyer was named a Second Team AVCA Division III All-American. He is also a three-time EIVA Division III All-Star.
