Men's Volleyball Zolnowski Earns AVCA National Player of Week Award

New York University junior Devin Zolnowski was named the Sports Imports/American Volleyball Coaches Association Division III Men's National Player of the Week and the Eastern Intercollegiate Volleyball (EIVA) Association Hay Division Player of the Week on Tuesday.

Zolnowski helped lead the Violets to a 4-0 start, the best beginning to a season the team has had in the rally-scoring era.

In NYU's opening match against Division II Mercyhurst College on Jan. 11, Zolnowski tallied 24 kills, seven digs, four total blocks and an ace. He followed that up by recording 12 kills, four digs, and a block against then-#8 D'Youville College on Jan. 12.

On Jan. 13 against then-#13 Medaille College, Zolnowski netted 15 kills, five digs, three total blocks and two aces. Later that day, he notched 18 kills, seven digs and four total blocks against Division II Mount Olive College.

Zolnowski was a Second Team EIVA Division III All-Star in 2007.
