Several Violet runners provided highlights as the New York University women's track & field team competed at the Penn Invitational in Philadelphia, PA, on Saturday.
Sophomore Caitlin Gibson recorded personal bests in both the 100m and 200m, finishing with times of 12.90 and 26.86, respectively.
Freshman Kiley Bunce also ran a personal best in the 200m (27.53).
"I thought the sprint crew had a really good day," said NYU head coach Nick McDonough. "That's a good sign as we move forward."
In the 3,000m steeplechase, senior Natalie Wilson finished sixth and ran a best-ever 11:54.75, just missing the five-year-old school record of 11:49.26.
In the 800m, the threesome of senior co-captain Beatrix Jackson (2:25.69), freshman Natalie Helpern (2:27.20) and freshman Kristin Marshall (2:27.76) all ran season bests.
"Our middle distance continues to improve as the season progresses," McDonough added.
Also setting a personal best on the day was freshman Emily Olsen in the 1,500m (5:20.01).
The Violets return to action on Saturday, April 12, when they compete at The College of New Jersey Invitational in Ewing, NJ. It will also be the team's annual Alumni/Family Day.
