
Women's T&F Begins Outdoor Season

The New York University women's track & field team opened its 2008 outdoor season with competition at the Wagner College Invitational on Staten Island, NY, on Saturday, March 29.
Although there was no team scoring at the meet, the Violets did produce several top finishes.
NYU's 4x800m relay team of freshman Emily Olsen, freshman Katherine Wang, sophomore Kathryn Shannon, and freshman Kristin Marshall placed second with a time of 10:57.84.
Wang also produced a fourth-place finish in the 5,000m (19:56.79), finishing just ahead of senior Jane Wolkowitz (20:18.22).
Shannon took fourth place in the 400m (1:05.80).
The Violets' 4x400m foursome of freshman Kiley Bunce, sophomore Caitlin Gibson, freshman Natalie Helpern, and senior captain Beatrix Jackson finished third in a time of 4:25.00.
Individually, Gibson also placed third in the 100m (13.15) and 5th in the 200m (27.41), while Jackson took third in the 800m (2:30.14).
The team returns to action on Saturday, April 5, when it competes in Philadelphia, PA, at the University of Pennsylvania Invitational.
