05/03/08
Several members of the New York University women's track & field team competed at USMMA's Kings Point Invitational in Kings Point, NY, on Saturday, May 3.
The Violets' top finisher was sophomore Caitlin Gibson, who placed second in the 100 meters in a time of 13.45.
Senior Nicole Eastzer produced a third-place finish in the 3,000 meters in a time of 11:11.08.
NYU also had a pair of fourth-place performers in freshmen Natalie Helpern (mile, 5:30.82) and Katherine Wang (3,000 meters, career-best 11:32.12).
Another freshman, Emily Olsen, was seventh in the mile (5:41.27).
"This was a strong performance and a good way for our team to wind down the season," said NYU assistant coach Lauren Henkel.
Several members of the team will close out the season with competition at the Swarthmore Last Chance Invitational on Monday, May 12.
